Ebay are trying out new formats at the moment, after six years of knowing where everything is, it keeps changing ! they are putting loads of new constraints on what you can and cannot sell, and also forcing people to use paypal even if they dont want to. Not exactly very user friendly. Tony.

thanks for replys folks,,i definately dont like this new set up,,its not exactly user friendly like the last ebay format i had..thanks again spotter

Then again,Ebay is not exactly user friendly!

they stitch me both on sellers and paypal fees...the b#stards.

They do this new format thing from time to time, a real pain, if it ain't broke dont fix it!

As for Ebay fees, they may seem excessive but they do allow you access to the maximum number of potential buyers...

You pays your money and takes your gambles.

Hi All just had a advert pulled by ebay for calling an english bomb fuze its correct terminolgy namely a Pistol this is what ebay had to say In accordance with our User Agreement, items prohibited by law or by eBay policy are not allowed on eBay.

Since buying and selling weapons is highly regulated in the UK and Ireland, and may harm eBay and its members, you're not allowed to list weapons on eBay.

Firearms and all component parts of a firearm, regardless of their capability to fire a shot, may not be listed on eBay. This includes sporting, collectible, curio and relic, signaling pistols and antique firearms.

Other examples of firearms-related items not permitted on eBay include BB guns, air guns, air pistols, paintball guns, silencers, high voltage electric stunning devices (for example "tazers"), flares, flare launchers, flare guns, receivers for flare guns and weapons which discharge noxious liquids or gases such as tear gas or pepper spray dispensers.

Components, such as silencers, converters (which give firearms automatic capability), kits that can be used to create firearms and short barrels are illegal in the UK, and therefore may not be listed on eBay.

In addition, magazines and ammunition, as well as any component used to make up an actual round of ammunition, such as lead bullets, brass casings, shells, primers and gunpowder cannot be listed. Any bullet reloading device or any equipment used to manufacture ammunition is also not permitted.

And While I was Watching

They killed a 37mm listing, but not before I had sent the seller a message to get their email and buy it off site if ebay terminated it. Which I hope now to do. Thier BS line to me was;

37 MM STELL PROJECTILE AMMUNITION DRIGGS ORDANACE CO.

Unfortunately, we had to remove this and cancel all bids. We don't like to remove listings -- it's disappointing for everyone -- but sometimes we need to do it.

(It was a Driggs case, but an M80 projectile)

I sent their so called customer support a blistering comment, hoping they would all loose their jobs and homes, plus a few expletives that I only use on ebay staff. They are from top to bottom Lice on the Earth's Ass.

Sorry to hear that matey. It seems you have been caught when they have done a sweep for key words and found `pistol` or `fuze`??
No way out as they got you! Its happened to me before plenty of times.:tinysmile_angry_t:

This is just another typical knee jerk reaction from Ebay were by they only see black and white and to be honest they do not have much knowledge on any subjects were by one wrong word by the advertiser
leads to a major infringment of Ebay rules.international terrorists and all that.At least you can use specialist auctions freely.

Good Point --

Lice do their job well, always constant - dependable - never make you wonder what is next--- Always straight with you -- Yes Lice are better inhabitants of the planet than ebay employees !

I apologize to all Lice where ever you are~

Yes i agree with you that eBay can be a problem, especially re odrnance etc but i have listed 10 items in the last week and all sold, all would have been pulled in Feb when they had a major purge on such items. I actually asked permission from them to sell certain items and they agreed and i have kept their emails just in case. I think there has been a 'softening' of their rules lately especially as i am sure the loss of us 'collectors' selling stuff has reduced their income.
I say, dont give up, pay lip service and adjust the wording on your items, after all, a slap on the wrist from eBay dosnt actually amount to much.

Spotter I had the same problem with Ebay , ebay is running something called a beta version which is basically them using us to test out their crappy new version of ebay if you look at the top of the screen on 'my ebay' it should say 'opt out ' or opt out of beta or something like that , I did it and ebay started to work again instead of being ages loading adverts and rubbish thats just there to look good ( so they think).
