Moving Out

Due to the living room getting a little full,i decided to move the ordance into a new facility [shed].8 weeks of evenings and weekends and its finally finshed though carrying the German 15CMS nearly finished me ,Dave

You have some really nice stuff there. So the photos are of the old room before you moved, or is this is the new location? If this is the new location, that must have been a busy livingroom!

Hi Hazord this is the new shed ,most of the shells were in the living room ,the mines and mortar rounds were in another shed with the rest of my militaria .,the livingroom now looks a little empty with only a sectioned 90mm ,a sectioned 81 mm Brandt mortar and a 4.5" Naval star shell ,regards Dave

Hi David i like the Stielgranate 41 as well but would not fancy firing the thing ,it came as part of a deal at a very reasonable price but it is missing the front band that holds the hollow charge bit together , regards ,Dave

It was an even bigger problem after you had fired the first one. Just think of the poor sod that had to run round to the front to load the next one in the barrel.

Can you post a close up picture please? I am interested to see what part is missing.

Hi Chris i think its the Russian 152mm M1938/15.2cm sFH443[r] Howitzer round your looking at ,The case is Soviet manufacture dated1941 but the Sprgr projectile was made by Hasag ,Germany ,the fuse is a common German AZ23.The Germans captured so many weapons form the Russians in the early days that they made there own ammo for them ,Dave PS it also came with its packing case

Many thanks Big Dave, what a nice round that is ! It has a slight "Russian" look about it, I think that is one of the reasons why I still collect the Russian stuff as a lot of it has a good look about it and it would also be easy to collect some German WW2 kit as it is very similar in looks.

I have attached a cutaway picture belonging to PzGr40.
From what I can tell your Stielgr41 has all the external parts complete. The inert examples are always missing the inner cone as it was held in place by the shaped charge.
The problem is trying to get the 2 halves back together and without a lot of experience and the right equipment you have little to no chance without destroying your item.
