Had a day out today as i was in the area and visited the Imperial War Museum Duxford,Looked good place after seeing previous posts about it ,Seemed expensive at first 16.00 for adults..It was worth every penny,I would recomend if you do go take a good camera ,the lighting is not so good in some areas and my phone cam didnt get very clear pics,.The highlight of my day though was having a flight in a Tiger Moth cost 99.00 for 15-20 mins but again was worth every single penny,my work colleague took some video and stills of me dressed like biggles and ill try remember to post them when i return from germany..
anyway heres some pictures including a section of the so called iraqi supergun

When you do get chance to go Rick,,go early as the place is huge and you need a full day to look around,,i actually had to miss some of the display halls

Hey Spotter,

Thanks for posting the photos, especially the shot of the the Iraq super gun tube section. Do you have any more photos of it?

Also, what is the mortar two photos to the left of the super gun tube? Is it the WWI 240mm mortar, maybe U.S.?

Thanks,
John

heres some pictures including a section of the so called iraqi supergun

Was there not a test gun built of a smaller calibre?
I only ask because there are 2 sections displayed as part of the Royal Armouries collection at Fort Nelson labeled.

It doesn't look like they are the same calibre as the part in the IWM
