Odd uses for ordnance items

A few years ago I saw a big shell, probably 14" being used as a charity collection box. It was on a pedestal made out of 3" shells and had a small slot cut on its ogive for coins with a brass plaque requesting donations to a forces charity. It was in Glasgows buchannan street railway station, hope its still there.

40MM Oil Lamp

Bought this many years ago, it was a souvenir brought back from North Vietnam after tourism from the states first started. The story given was that it was used by North Vietnamese soldiers to use in the underground tunnels (most probably made for the tourists). Its a converted 40mm grenade case with an aluminum screw lid and base with a wick. I don't know what the engraved Vietnamese red text says? Bottom of the casing marked; 6-66 40MM M118 RNO-2-174.
