Early type of RGD 33 ,practice ,section ,school

hello guys ,last my catch taken out from the ground . An early (1933) type of russ grenade RGD 33 in practice ,training ,school version ,cut of ,without tnt (replaced by wooden block ) ,with wooden fuze. Never seen this stuff before.

Great find! I also have not seen that cover before. Can you give me an idea on how it would go over the hole?
 
What you got is not a RGD-33, but a RGU-38. I have never seen a real one before. If you can read Russian it is a flyer at Lexpevs page her.

no ,this is an early RGD 33 ,this one from your link has modern hamdle ,in mine RGD handle is typical for RGD 33's :).
 
Great info flyer you mad there Jhonni. Any chance it can be translated into English?

It also appears to have mutiple layers inside of sheets that appear to be metal? I know that when I had mine it came with a slide on frag sleeve. Why so many metal sheets inside including the walls of the grenade itself?
 
IF your question about armed variety RGD-33:
-First of all RGD33 without sleeve was as offensive grenade (its fragment's had a small effective casualty radius).
-With sleeve grenade was as defensive and had a big effective casualty radius.
Layers into the body very thin and fragment's had a little size after detonation (10x10x0.8mm).
