2pdr

Hi,its a 2pdr HV projectile,it must be practice with the nose plug, although the plug design is different than the british types ive got. Also the trace unit is withouth the self destruct found normally. This ammunition was obviously supplied to the Polish Navy with the guns. In British use the shell would be stamped 2 Pdr HV P,and the trace extraction holes would be different. There are some 2pdr projectiles on my album if it helps.Tig:tinysmile_fatgrin_t

Hi,you must be right, the early belts were not steel links but belts,im sure this caused jamming on occasions and thats why they went to steel. I have no pics of canvas belts,Anybody??And what date in British service did the RN change over?

lots of posts and info on BOCN for 2pr AA as above. The practice? with small hole looks like the day tracer design for 1pr and other rounds. Vickers tended to mark their exports in mm and there would be no broad arrow stamp. All the UK practice 2pr I've seen have a truncated nose plug but the 1 1/2pr did have a pointed plug with two flats on it.
