.30 Carbine Cartridges

A few .30 Carbine rounds that might be of interest. Left to right: A gilding metal flat nosed bullet with a hollow nose cavity. For a US covert program. 50,000 rounds were loaded at Frankford Arsenal in 1969 using Lake City Arsenal cases. No paperwork was maintained at Lake City and the bill was paid in cash. Headstamp is LC 69. Not all rounds were used, the rest destroyed.;; Chinese made copy of the US ball cartridge. Headstamp is LC 52 and the round appears to be US manufacture. ;; An
FAT1-E4 Spotting round. Headstamp is FA 45. Silver tip. Filled with an incendiary charge and a chisel pointed Manganese-molybdenum-steel core.;; T62E3 Armor piercing experimental. Truncated tip. Headstamp is FA 45.;; T62 Armor Piercing experimental. Headstamp is FA 45.;; High Pressure Test loading. Gilding metal clad steel jacket. Tinned case. Headstamp is RA 54.;; Ball loading for the General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) trials. Used a 7.62x51mm NATO ball bullet. Headstamp is norma US .30.;; The XM869 Viper (AT rocket) training round. An M62 NATO tracer bullet. Headstamp is R-P 30 CARBINE.;; Ball loading for the Colt Personal Defense Weapon (PDW). Used both the M72 or M116 NATO ball bullet in shortened carbine case. Headstamp is LC 71.
