Cluster bombs - a thing of the past?

The UK government is banning the use of these by the British Army, in the hope that others will follow suit. Their first use in World War 2 caused terror and horrific casualties, especially among civilians - mostly the young. Italian 'Thermos' bombs designed originally for airfields were scattered across Malta in 1941, followed by German butterfly bombs in 1942. One of these was found in Malta only weeks ago, hidden in the field where it fell.
