I've checked all the titles in this section and didn't find one for the 120 BAT, so here goes. I took these photos in 1988 & 1989. The back end of the barrel (see photo 5) was hinged to swing open to the side for the weapon to be loaded. The .50 inch spotting rifle (see photo 3) fired the US M48 round (M48A1 & M48A2). The weapon's effective range was 1,000 metres. In UK service it was replaced by the Milan anti-tank guided weapon (ATGW) system. Photo 4 shows two guns, each mounted on a Landrover, underslung from a Chinook helicopter, as used by 5 Airborne Brigade in a 1989 exercise. The users removed the guns from the Landrovers.
