    41A and Charge

Hear is another 41a Butterfly bomb with a lot of pits or are they rough casting marks as there is still a fair amount of paint remaining.

No signs of any stampings but the fuse fits a treat.

Very curious as i think it had been laquered at some point but the metal is
realy smooth but with foundary marks still present.

Very nice body and fuze there Phil.

Think you could be right maybe just a rough casting, from the photos the paint looks original enough.

would be nice to see some pics of the markings too!!

    regards Kev

    Hi Kev

I cant find not even a trace of any markings and normally there were some
    at least on the ends.

I have done a tracing paper rubbing just in case but nothing.

Sorry Phil, just re-read your original post and you said no markings.

Still, a very nice body and fuze as well always nice to see.

Does it have the hole in the base on this one??

    regards Kev

Who knows bud but i do have others which are realy faintly stamped,
unlike the screw in type charge where they were almost cast into the steel.

    Hi Phil,

I agree, I have a bayonet body that just had Bk on the side nothing else, very faint too!!

Nice to find a decent one without the hole in the bottom!! Good find Phil.

    regards Kev
