German 77mm HE Colour & Markings

Can anyone forward info on colouring and markings that may have been on the WW1 German 77mm HE shell casing, and can the image below be identified as an HE shell, i believe the fuse was different on the shrapnel being the dopZ96 ???
    any help or info appreciated
(and yes the shell is still in the fields not retrieved etc)

Hi gedmat, Hard to ID in the relic/field state that one is in. The HE and shrapnel projectiles are so similar would be hard to tell. I would venture a guess that it is HE because the shrapnel shells used the Dopp Z96/ Dopp Z96 n/A more often than not. That shell sure looks beautiful to me in the wild so to speak. May I have permission to copy the photo....Dano

    German 77mm Clarification post

Just to clear the seemilngly misunderstood post, the photo of the ordanance in previous post came from the plough soil in France as dozens do regulary, it was removed two days later by French ordnance collection, not touch moved or tampered with and as pointed out on the previous closed post, never tamper with or move live ordanance.
