    US Bomb, identification ??

    These same two images are in William Wolf's book U.S. Aerial Armament in World War II, Vol 2. According to the text, they were "homemade incendiary bombs" made with 55 gallon fuel drums containing any flammable material the armorers could find such as contaminated gasoline, used oil, etc. The book also says they used any materials they could find, including wood or sheet metal for fins and hand grenades as igniters.
