ElAZ 25 D cutaway

A recent acquisition. Condeser and switchblock revealed by stripping away heavily rusted iron. I also managed to chip away the tar in which the switch block was immersed. Curiously, I noticed that the now visible trembler switch was totally surrounded be tar - so that firing circuit would have been dud if the fuze was used in a bomb.

Interesting................why do they set it in Tar? Does anyone have a drawing of one of these they can post?
Dave.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, can anyone tell me the diameter of this fuse? Any other general dimensions would be handy too if possible... Photos with coins or rulers in the shot would be great...

Thanks.
