Finished that book last week. Some very funny stories in that book and some really good references.
The author is Des Turner, the ISBN is 978-0-7524-5944-8, first published in 2006, price £9.99. It is the story of Aston House near Stevenage. Much information about the SOE, its work and training was finally declassified in 1999 when documents were passed to the Public Records Office, now known as The National Archives (TNA). The author taped interviews with surviving members of staff in an attempt to piece together what took place at Aston House. Much of the book is transcripts of taped interviews with those people and it is fascinating. Aston House was responsible for the production of numerous demolition type stores for issue to Special Forces and resistance groups, in very high quantities.

Brilliant book. Langley, Meek and Welsh are particularly well covered. Langley designed the time pencil of course; Meek's full story is still to be written but the chapter in Des Turner's book is well worth the study; Welsh was an unsung hero in the design team and was responsible for the detailed design of many SOE gadgets. Naval & Military press have the paperback available in their sale for less than £4. Sale ends this weekend. Buy it while you can.
