Help with ID of weapon parts

Hi all

Following on from my previous thread regarding the British Army dump dig by members of RRPG, I have two items yet to be ID'd. Both were retrieved from the dump, with one looking like a rear sight off something, and the other being a thumb catch.

I just can't pin them down !

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At first I thought it was a Bren mag release and rear sight, but they arent! I wonder if the catch is off a bi-pod or tri-pod

Looks like it is off of a Hotchkiss tripod.

The rear sight has the aperture down the middle, which seems to be a US design feature. Could be a M1917 Browning or a Lewis.

That does indeed look like the part. I've found another picture of it a bit closer up which does confirm your ID.
