Here is the response from my buddy at IVI (GD OTS Canada) This should clear up the issue:


The reason why your correspondents think it is loaded by us (GD OTS Canada) is because of the IVI stamp on the case. In reality the fired projectile in the picture looks like the NAMMO .50 caliber Reduced Range projectile. It was obviously loaded in Norway in a GD OTS Canada made cartridge case since NAMMO has purchased our cases in the past. Our company name has changed a few times but the IVI code letters (Industry Valcartier Incorporated) continue to identify our small caliber ammunition even though the original IVI facility near Qubec city, dating back to the early 1900’s, closed more than 20 years ago.

So, Nammo has bought IVI cases and loaded their projectiles into them...

Well done EOD and MissingSomething,
Thanks for your time and efforts to solve this one and I think you may have also solved an id question from an earlier post with the photo of the blue plastic practice tracer round.
Either of you know what the indentations do,slow the projectile down for practice use?

Yes, they increase drag and make it drop faster. Thet blue plastic TP-T with electric primer was a DAG one.
