    German MG08/15 Eqipment Collection

Hopefully to run parallel with Daves MG08 Collection thread, the MG08/15 ground gun. I will post some images of our display if of interest. Here is a line up of some of the complete ones and will show more detail of individual pieces.

    Wooden Training MG

I have yet to see original period photos of MG08/15 'dummy' deception guns in the front line but at armourer schools these were in use. I think this piece does fall into the 'rare' category and has its history and capture details. Not sure about cleaning it though as it is dusty and grimy - whether this is protecting the wood or degrading it I do not know. Again any advice from competent (!) restorers most welcome.

An original wooden trommel would be nice!!! Unless the MG students used real ones which I suspect they did, as in true German engineering skill a real drum fits nicely.

British captured MG08/15 with ''Register'' markings. The British, Canadians, Australians and New Zealander armed forces all brought back thousands of war booty items but unlike the Canadian museums who have still their records, sadly the British capture pieces register is at the moment 'lost' - would be great to know her history. This one has also suffered some damage.
