    My new baby...20lb Bomb

    I buy this from a friend.
    Now its time for restauration.
    here some pictures.
    has this bomb the same exploder container how an ....500LB bomb ??

    Hi British Collector!

    The Fuze is a No. 873 Mk. 3. The same fuze was used in other small bombs, but not in anything larger than the 40 lb GP and certainly not in anything as large as a 500lb bomb. The principle of operation is the same as some Pistols used in larger bombs, for example the No. 44 Pistol (which was used in 250 lb, 500 lb and 1000 lb GP and MC bombs). The No. 873 Fuze looked very similar except that the No. 44 Pistol did not have an in-built Detonator like your No. 873.
