I recived this fuze recently, although it's probably a well known type but I've have been unable to find anything about it

I'm not fully certain how it would have operated, the firing pin is cativated in either glass or an acitate type material. I'm guessing if its glass then the screw off end cap is just a transit cover for some kind of rod but if its an artificial material then a corrosive liquid could be used to release the firing pin rather like a time pencil. The screw in safety would trap the fireing pin if it was released before the screw pin is removed. if this has happened then the safty can not be removed without stripping the fuze.
The only way to fit the fuze to what ever it detonated would appear to be a narrow groove at the base.
I've not found any marks on the fuze at all which seams a bit odd.
I'd be greatful of any help to identify it

Hi Blyth

Really nice, and extremely scarce item. Thanks for showing it!

Cheers
