BUTTERFLY BOMB - SD2 and M83 ' COLLECTION '

Hello Everyone........


...I thought it was about time I posted a few photos of the SD2's and M83's that I have in my collection. These are not the easiest things to track down and the 'collection' has taken me a couple of decades to put together.

The collection began with a single unit and through time, one became two and so on, growing steadily, though slowly, sometimes being put on the 'back burner' for a while, then added to again etc, etc.......... Then a couple of years ago I was very fortunate enough to 'stumble' across B.O.C.N. whilst doing re-search on the SD2's and I havent looked back since....... I have had the help of many members in my quest to add new items to my collection, and to all, I am truely grateful -THANKYOU !!
(I am always looking !!!!)

So enough of this rambling, here are the pics, I hope you like them,

Thanks Bob that's great! In case you'd not worked it out that ones an early M83 wing set. The tiny brackets that hold on the end paddles are square just like the SD2's so are sometimes easily confused with them but the larger brake wing has the square holefor the clip to hold the wings together and also, although I may be wrong because its hard to make out in the photo, the wing cradle that the wings fit to is made of several pieces of metal rather than one piece, with the SD2's they only ever made them with one piece, with the M83's they could be either.
Do you have any history on that one?

This was supposedly found in a German forest so makes sense it'd be American!

Thanks Bob that makes it even more interesting. The M83's were developed in WW2 but I've not managed to track down evidence of their use and where. I wonder if anyone else out there has proof of their use against the Germans?
