German Fuze Wrench.

Hey guys,

Here is a new addition to the museum. A WWII German C series (C12/C22) Fuze/Primer Wrench.

Wrangled this of eBay.De for 1E....not a bad deal if you ask me. She was a bit Krunchy but with some love she came out ok.

Tell me what you think.

Very nice find, and even better at that price. Thanks for showing us,
Best regards Weasel.

It looks very good Glen. I would love to add one to my collection. They seem very hard to find in any condition and it makes you think how they were issued.

If the screw came out what is on the other end of the spanner part?

Thanks
PC

PC,

I wondered the same thing?? im not sure what this screw is for. Its rusted in good so it will not come out. I was thinking it could be a set screw that could be removed to add another wrench head to fit a different fuze/primer rather than make another specific wrench?? or it could be a guide screw that could be set out to seat in a hole to keep the tool lined up??

I wonder if any of the other member have the same wrench in their collections in better shape that hey can show??

C12 & C22 Primer Tool

I can shed some light to this one.
I was going to start my own thread on this Primer Key/Tool but found this thread.

I have also been after one of these for a long time and have gone to the lengths of Drawing one up ready for getting one made.
If you do happen across a spare one of these or on an eBay listing then please let me know.

See the first picture for German to English Translation. Second picture is from a German Fuze Manual/Documentation.

So - as you can see from the drawings, the adapter is reversible for the removal/fitting of the C12 and C22 variants of Primers.

Hope that helps somewhat.

Kind regards,

Pete.

I have many C13 primers for German 37mm rounds. Early versions have three points for tool engagement and later versions have two just like the C12 and C22 primers. I never seen a picture of the tool for these small primers. Was there an electric version of the C13 for use in tanks? I have never seen a picture of those either.

I don't know anything about the C13 Primers or Tools - but I will have a look at some of my German Ordnance documentation to see if I can find something out about these.

Great Examples of the Kriegsmarine primer wrench - it has been well looked after judging by the condition and the fact that it comes apart ok.
Could you post a few close-ups of the of the parts and where they fit together please?

Kind regards,
Pete.

C13 Primer

Had a good root around some of the German Ordnance documents to see if I could find anything on C13 Primers and/or C13 Primer Tools.
This is all I could find -

C13 Text.jpgC13 Picture 01.jpg

There is no mention of an Electrical version or tools used - I'm sure that there would have been some sort of Primer/Fuze Tool.

Hope this helps a bit.

Kind regards,
Pete.

There was also a C/33 primer which was mainly used for the 3,7 cm and 4 cm Flak guns.

I finally found a treasure trove of C23 electric primers for my German 37mm Pak cases, so I can make them into KwK tank cases.

Home-made C/12 and C/22 Primer Removal Tool

Hi All,

When I compiled the drawings of the broken down tool, it was always my intention to get one made until I came accross and got my hands on a real one.

Fuze Key 4.jpg

The first stage was to make one out of wood which could then be used as a Template towards making one out of Metal.

Here's what I came up with:

20160930_103658-1.jpg 20160930_103438.jpg 20160930_105505-1.jpg 20160930_103235.jpg 20160930_103254-1.jpg 20160930_103338-1.jpg 20160930_103551.jpg 20160930_103536.jpg C12 primer removal tool.jpg

The next stage was to get in touch with an old Uncle of mine who lives down in Cornwall.
He has an extensive workshop and builds and repairs all sorts of machinery stuff.

He very kindly made me one out of polished steel.

20180706_162808-1.jpg 20180706_162824-1.jpg 20180706_162921-1.jpg 20180706_162933-1.jpg

I'm well happy with what he has created and it works perfectly !

Just need to get hold of an Industrial Engraver now to add the text to the Handle.

Still looking out for a Real One - so if you have one then please let me know - can be in any condition!

Kind regards,

Pete.
