    Unknown sumunition?

I know what the purpose is as it's filled with flechettes, I'm more interested in the nomenclature and any other info on it as I'm cleaning out boxes and planning on putting stuff up for sale.

    Any one have any ideas?

Your answer most likely resides with US-Subs, but what is the diameter of the container?

I'm pretty certain it is one of the 1/2 body insert containers for the 5-inch Zuni rocket flechette load. I've photographed a couple previously, I can look and see what I can find tonight. Remind me, got a busy day ahead. Seems like the ones I photographed might have been tagged.

5" didn't even occur to me. I was thinking an insert for the SUU-13 but a rocket would make sense as it says "forward end" and not "bottom".

    It's 4 1/2" wide and 2" high.

Sorry Mike, my photos aren't much better than yours. Tape on the side states that it is for the 5" warhead called a ZEAP - Zero Elevation Anti-Personnel. Afraid that's all I've got, though it may be enough for a search.
