    unknown projectile, belgian?

This projectile was in a lot i've aquired recently. The previous owner thinks it's belgian but i'm not certain. the dimensions: 37.5cm high and about 12cm calibre and very heavy. The fuse is marked 84 (maybe 1884?).
    Thanks for the reply.

It looks like a Belgian 12cm HE projectile 1889-1914, but the length you give doesn't match, have you measured the length to include the fuze?

not sure if it saw belgian service too, but it looks like a normal french 120 mm Mle. 1878 shell with 30-45 Mle. 1878 Fuze. The gun used bag charges, like most other guns in this time.

Hi, there are 36 grooves in the driving band. If it's french i'd consider selling it, what would the value be?
    regards Jeroen
