My first thoughts on this one is an SC1800 Satan, however I have not seen this kind of nose ring arrangement before.

(The rivets on either side of the hanging bracket appear in the Pawlas drawing of the SC1800)

Will keep looking and see what others have to say.

    regards Kev

    Hi Ben,

I agree with butterfly, following TM 9-1985-2 "German Explosive Ordnance", it should be a SC 1800 SATAN.

The problem is the nose accessorie ! Never seen ! I thought first on a sort of Hollow Charges nose device but, following same doc, it's was use only with SD 250.

Now, if you give us the correct dimensions, we should can looking further in our doc's ! I have found a SD 1700 whose seems to be very similar on your bomb (screwed suspension rail, screwed trunion lugs and not on a suspension band also SC 1800 !

I stumbled upon this, which looks similar to the nose arrangement on the bomb of yours Ben.

I know this is on a 50kg but maybe they used it also on other sizes?

(found also on the SC 250 J/A) .....anti-ricochet plate

Anti Ricochet Kev, used against shipping, it stops the bomb from glancing off the water.
The item in Question, i think the nose addition has been added later, the body has pitting all over its surface but the nose piece looks like new, just a guess but could it have been added to hold it vertical in concrete for display..... Dave
