A nozzle tip for an engine. You have to be correct. I started researching nozzle tips and came accross several Chine made tips that were almost exact. At least I have made an identification of what it is, with your help, but it hurts me soooo much to know that it wasn't some type of ordnace striket or ignitor part or secret fuze.. Thanks for your help. Is something like worth anything on the market?

I have some new pictures since I got a new lense for my camera. There are the markings on the the unknown gaine, and the Kiska grenade. I have also included a watch that was also taken as a souvineer with a homemade rubberized pouch. I know the watch is not in running with the thread, but I havn't quite learned the blog. if anybody can identify anything I'll send my my sister-in-law to you for free Any help is appreciated and again thanks to Sgt Lynn for letting me post. There are the markings on the the unknown gaine, and the Kiska grenade.

Your gaine was made at the Toyokawa arsenal, as evidenced by the style of anchor on it, as well as the Katakana 'to' character that appears to the left of the letters 'AFZ'. These three letters, BTW, are a lot identifier. The two markings in the other picture are: Navy acceptance stamp (leftmost character) and a Kanji number '9' (rightmost character); I'm not sure what the meaning of the sole '9' is in this context. As for the Kiska grenade; I'm by no means an expert on grenades and hence haven't yet studied the fuze markings of those, but the top-most one is a Kanji numeral '4', then follows a dash (i.e. NOT a numeral '1' (!)) then a Kanji numeral '5' and the 4th one is not known by me. Could this perhaps read as "4-5 seconds", as in, the delay time of the fuze before going off? I'm sure someone else here would know...

As for the nose part of the small Navy 1KG practise bomb: I have such a bomb, and my nose piece is missing a part (see the attached picture). Should you wish to part with that, I'd very gladly buy/trade that from you, as I'd love to be able to complete that small bomb.

Thank you for the ifo..the grenade I also think is a 4 to 5 second fuze..but I'm dizzy trying to compare the photo with old style kanji or kani. As far as the practice round head, what
might it be worth to you. I'm not sure I would sell but then there is always a chance. I have certain oieces that I will never give up and I have those that I would consider. Half of a piece to complement another collectors piece is worth consideration, since I have no interest in your half. Let me know. I do not know the full range of laws of the site so tell me how or what might be done. R/ Jim

You're most welcome as to the given info, and thanks for being willing to consider selling/trading the little bomb head. I just sent you a PM regarding the latter.
As for the translation of the Kanji on the fuze: I just found a moment (or two) to check in the PDF I have with 'Japanese ordnance markings' (if you check for my posts, you'll find I've made that freely available, along with some other documents in this topic: http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/thread...n-for-FREE-%29 - check the very first link). In table 14 ("Metric tables") in it, one finds the final Kanji character. It is pronounced 'Byo' and just like I expected it means '1 second', so yes, the previously made assumption that the Kanji on the fuze read "4-5 seconds" was indeed correct. :P
