    Japanese Trench Art Shell

The shell measures about 110mm in diameter and the pennies are all dated 1944.

The shell diameter is about 110mm and all the pennies are dated 1944. It was surly used as an ash tray and is nasty inside.

The rim diameter is 122mm and I pretty sure this was a 105mm.

    Hi,
What strikes me as odd is that there is Japanese writing as well as a US name on it. I can't picture a Jap solder and a US GI sitting together engraving this shell! Interesting piece, thank you for showing.
