Bullet id

Hi to all,
looking for a id on these bullet remains,the penetrator is 29mm long and diameter of 6mm,very weak magnetic attraction so possibly a tungsten alloy?,with it are the remains of the jacket and the lead sealing plug...it is British and military,having a guess at the .338LM sniper but not sure if AP are used in this rifle in UK service?...second photo is shown with a .50 BMG penetrator for scale.

Looks like the penetrator of the RUAG .338 as you say. I cannot say for certain whether the military are using the AP but the police are.
