YEAH I DON'T THINK SO!
Sent the seller a nice e-mail just to let him know how wrong he is:
Dear deg462,
Sorry to inform you but your casing is not from an AC-130U gunship
The 105mm gun used on the U gunship uses a casing designated
105mm CYU-1/B also it would have ink stamped on the base of the casing
USAF 105MM PGU-43/B TP CARTRIDGE
USAF 105MM PGU-44/B HE CARTRIDGE
USAF 105MM PGU-45/B HF CARTRIDGE
it would also have an M28A2 PERCUSSION PRIMER
There are three types of ammunition authorized for use
PGU-43/B105 mm TP (Target Practice); used with 105 mm gun system in AC-130
PGU-44/B105 mm HE (High Explosive); used with 105 mm gun system in AC-130
PGU-45/B105 mm HF (High Explosive, High Fragmentation); used with 105 mm gun system in AC-130
The fitting of a 105 mm howitzer on the AC-130 gunship fleet began in 1972 Your casing is dated 1969 and it's an M14B1 which is a steel casing yours appears to be painted with gold paint.
Regards
