Hi Joe,
I did a little googling and came up with the following on Ordata for you
http://ordata.info/ordnance?id=http://cord.gichd.org/ontology#Projectile1504

Unfortuantely, they list it as FRENCH PROJECTILE, 100-MM, AP-T, MODEL UNKNOWN
...and im also slightly skeptical about the grove around the projectile below the Ogive as it isn't on yours.

Also a quick search shows 3 different 100mm cases that might narrow it down

100 x 617R 1920-30s L/45
100 x 700R modern naval
100 x 869R Snyder-Canet

Could matches, a "secret" shell of the French Navy (again).
Blue shell could be ok with the diagram. Top shell seems to has a smaller body with a higher penetration cap.
I've never seen such a shell. Top crimp grooves for penetration cap are US inspiration.

I would agree with MINENAZ16, those groves look American in origin, and the style of the driving band could also be American. However, I'm not aware of the us using 100mm' so perhaps us manufacture for French weapon or more likely it's not 100mm at all, but 102mm ie 4 inch.... So possibly 4/50 naval?

The museum file states that it is a 100-MM French round for their tank gun. Period of manufacture was 1950.

I don't think it is U.S. I know the museum is usually wrong, but was from the Picatinney museum.

Joe have you looked at FSTC docs and the rotating band seat to see if it matches?
