    UK Used Nato Colour Codes To UK BS381C

    I have had a look through what files i have and put this together to try and help when members are looking for what Paint code when ordering paint for restorations ,touch up etc
    *Please note these are UK POST 1964 colour codes and include colours for hazard bands as well as overall body colours
    These are NATO Colour Codes To BS381C so for example when going to a paint supplier if you require Yellow tell them you require GOLDEN YELLOW to BSC381C-356.


    DEEP BRONZE GREEN (No224) OR IRR NATO GREEN (No285) WHICH ARE APPLIED OVERALL FOR ANTI CORROSION AND CAMOUFLAGE PURPOSES.

    YELLOW (GOLDEN YELLOW No356) HIGH EXPLOSIVE OR THE PRESENCE OF.

    BROWN (MIDDLE BROWN No411) LOW EXPLOSIVE OR THE PRESENCE OF.

    GREY (LIGHT GREY No631) CHEMICAL AMMUNITION-OVERALL BODY COLOUR

    DARK RED (CHERRY RED No538) RIOT CONTROL AMMUNITION (ROLE BAND)

    DARK GREEN (DEEP CHROME GREEN No267 or LIGHT BRUNSWICK GREEN No255) TOXIC CHEMICAL (ROLE BAND)

    DARK VIOLET (DARK VIOLET No796) INCAPACITATING AGENT (ROLE BAND)

    BLACK (BLACK) ARMOUR DEFEATING AMMUNITION

    SILVER (SILVER) COUNTER MEASURE (RADAR ECHO,LEAFLETS ETC)

    LIGHT GREEN (EAU-DE-NIL No216) SCREENING SMOKE

    LIGHT RED (SIGNAL RED No537) INCENDIARY AMMO OR INENDIARY EFFECT

    WHITE (WHITE) ILLUMINATING OR SIGNALLING AMMUNITION

    LIGHT BLUE (DEEP SAXE BLUE No113) PRACTICE AMMUNITION

    DARK BLUE (OXFORD BLUE No105) DRILL AMMUNITION

    DARK VIOLET (DARK VIOLET No796) EXPERIMENTAL AMMUNITION - USUALLY APPLIED IN LONGITUDANAL STRIPES OVER EXISTING COLOUR

    LIGHT ORANGE (LIGHT ORANGE No557) NUCLEAR AMMUNITION O PRESENCE OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS

    ORANGE (INTERNATIONAL ORANGE No 592) EVALUATION OR TRAINING VERSIONS OF MISSILES

    PINK (SHELL PINK No453) ACQUISITION/TRAINING VERSION OF GUIDED MISSILES
