Primer Removal Tools

I have described on this site how much I enjoy taking ordnance apart. To do this, I have had to make the tools I need. On occasion, some readily available tools will fill the void. I just got a batch of German C22 primers for my 50mm KwK shell casings but was having trouble installing them. This prompted me to make the tool I needed and to post this thread.

C12 & C22 Primer Key

I was going to start my own thread on this Primer Key/Tool but found this thread, as well as http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/threads/82101-German-fuze?p=271303#post271303 and have copied my input from that thread which is in more detail with additional pictures of Primer Key !!!

I have been after an original one of these German Primer removal/fitting Keys for a long time and have Drawn one ready for getting one made.

The first picture gives German to English Translation. 2nd & 3rd pictures from German Fuze Manuals/Documentation.

So - as you can see from the drawings, the adapter is reversible for the removal/fitting of the C12 and C22 variants of Primers.

Kind regards,

Pete.

Home-made C/12 and C/22 Primer Removal Tool

Hi All,

When I compiled the drawings of the broken down tool, it was always my intention to get one made until I came accross and got my hands on a real one.

Fuze Key 4.jpg

The first stage was to make one out of wood which could then be used as a Template towards making one out of Metal.

Here's what I came up with:

The next stage was to get in touch with an old Uncle of mine who lives down in Cornwall.
He has an extensive workshop and builds and repairs all sorts of machinery stuff.

He very kindly made me one out of polished steel.

I'm well happy with what he has created and it works perfectly !

Just need to get hold of an Industrial Engraver now to add the text to the Handle.

Still looking out for a Real One - so if you have one then please let me know - can be in any condition!

Kind regards,

Pete.
