today i finally managed to get the heavy trench mortars from my collection space and to photograph them.
the 9,45 inch flying pig,together with the french 240mm mortar.

i'm still looking for the similar german mortar.
I've only seen one, in the storage area at the Ft. Sill Artillery Museum, but I have an early publication on it. It is dated June 1917, and notes that the fuze is still experimental, but looks similar to the French. The document makes no reference to whose design we copied, but France would seem most likely, with the 75mm and 155mm in mind.
