Info required on Spanish Bomba Quimica C1-C5

Hello.

There edited a book entitled "Guerra Quimica en Espaa. 1921-1945" (Chemical warfare in Spain from 1921 to 1945) the authors are Jose Maria Manrique Garcia and Lucas Molina. This book study the use of chemical weapons in Spain.

I send two images

In the first picture we can see, from left to right, a chemical bomb 50 kg, model C-1 (this bomb is a copy of the German P.u.W. used in the WW1), a HE bomb 50 kg "Hispana" model A-6, a HE bomb 12 kg "Hispana" model A-5, sectioned bomb 12 kg model A-5, a HE Bomb modelo A-4 (this bomb is a copy of the German P.u.W. used in the WW1), a HE bomb 10 kilos model A-1 copy of the German Carbonit bomb.
In the second photo, left, a HE bomb 12 kilos model Hispana A-5 and right, a chemical bomb 20 kilos model C-5.

It was used in Spain other Chemical Bomb model C-2, C-3 and C-4: These models are investigating, but can say that the bomb C-2 (loaded with Yperite) had a weight of 10 kilos and that its design was abandoned quickly, the C-3 weighed 26 kg (loaded with phosgene) and the C-4 was possibly a modification of the French incendiary bomb model Chanard.

Greeting

The book "Guerra Quimica en España. 1921-1945" arrived today and has lots of interesting images and a good amount on the history of the Spanish CW program.
Still looking for other images of the Spanish CW bombs................

Cheers

Pete

And the Fuse, called in Spain "Espoleta EISA" (Experiencias Industriales SA). It was manufactured in the company EISA, located in Aranjuez (Madrid) and the Pirotecnia Militar de Sevilla (Military Pyrotechnics) and was a copy of the German fuze PuW.
