Unknown 40mm Bofors and large naval cases?

Darkman

Well-Known Member
I have been offered these Bofors cases and what looks to be a large naval case of some 6 inches/150mm calibre (only guessing on calibre - being sold through a third party and I can't get any measurements yet).

The Bofors cases look European and I have no idea on the large case, but the headstamps are not giving me any clues.

Any information on the country of origin, maker and year would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Graeme

They both have signs of eastern european matrkings. The Bofors possibly Yugoslavian?

The "Bofors" cases may actually be 37mmx250R for the Soviet M1939 AA gun.

I have seen these cases before with very similar markings.

Going with Falcons ID,
37 x 252SR case, Soviet manufacture.
K indicates Silicon Brass,made by POZIS(184),1970.

Thanks kahu. I just assumed they were 40 x 311 Bofors. Looking at the photos they could well be 252mm cases.
