H type boxes

Well-Known Member
Below is a list of H type Ammunition boxes in use from @1914 to @1945. Can anyone tell me what happened to the missing numbers? i.e. H2, H5, H6,H7,H8, etc. i'm sure they must have been used for SAA but became obsolete before 1945 and were thus deleted from the list. Can anyone fill in the gaps, or at least point me in the right direction.
Cheers
Gary

Three from an Indian publication:

H2 Mk 2 or 2E Cart SA Ball 303-in Mk 7 or 7Z 600 rnds in chargers

H17 Mk1M or 2E Cart SA Ball 303-in Mk 7 or 7Z 1000 rnds in chargers

H18 Mk 1 ditto but 1000 rnds in bundles

If they were Indian Pattern they would be IH2, IH17 and IH18 so I guess they are British pattern boxes.
