At first, when I received this, I thought it was a standard high explosive projectile. Now, due my research and its two piece construction, I believe this be a smoke shell. It is seen here next to an OF-350 standard HE shell.
It is not a D-350 as the D-350 takes a KTM-2 fuse, and the KTM-2 fuse has a different thread from the KTM-1. A KTM-1 fits into my example. However, you can see the construction of the nose adapter is different from the drawing in the Russian artillery manual. It has lots of nice markings for a Russian shell. Does anyone else agree that this is a D-350A? The Russian smoke shells use "D" in the nomenclature due to the Russian word for smoke being "Dym" or "дым".Thank you for your help.
