Here is something new in my collection. I now have HEAT, HE and AP for the standard German light field howitzer used in WWII. Both the projectile and the fuse are dated 1937. Enjoy.

A nice looking projectile ...good find.
Am I right in saying this is separtely loaded ammunition... does that mean there is another case where this projectile is crimped ?

Hello Rich,

It is definitely separately loaded, but I also do not know the purpose of the grooves.

Yes there is, used for the 10 cm K.k and K.T (fixed)

It was used on the 10 cm K gun too. This gun used the fixed system.

I found a nicer one with original paint and markings. It still has its red painted "16" explosive filler code. This is the first German projectile with original paint that I have seen with a red primer coat under the black paint. The first one shown above is now surplus to my needs if anyone in the US is interested in adding it to their collection.
