WWI Ground Maxim Machine Guns

Period photos are obviously excellent sources of accurate info for students/collectors. I am trying to identify all elements of the MG armour if anyone can help?

Of course deactivated and inert.

German MG08/15 Equipment Collection

All, as we have a very popular MG08 specific thread, it makes sense to me anyway to have its sister! Could the moderator place the other smaller MG08/15 threads into this one please? I will add MG08/15 material today. Thanks.
To my fellow BOCN - please contribute in both Imperial MG sections?

3 WWI period German 08/15s - wooden training guns. Cocking action works for loading/stoppage drills. Picked up by the Belgian Army in 1918.

The 08/15 had an assault drum called the trommel holding 100 rds. In many of the photos the 2 drum box is clearly seen.

In order to generate interest the 08 and 08/15 threads have been merged into this maxim ground gun post. Anything ground gun WWI or related is welcome,

Since you are into Maxim and 08 - enjoy these taken recently at the Lithgow Small Arms Museum, NSW Oz.

Cheers

Dronic69 huge thanks for posting. Nice museum display but someone should tell them that the wooden butt stock of their German MG08/15 has been put on upside down!!
