Just picked this off. Normally I avoid this kind of
thing because they are not old (ww1 vintage) that is newly made
or just plain doubtful. This example was not expensive at all and
looks to have good age. There are mounting holes in the projectile
and case to screw it onto a display board, which is what would expect
of an original. It's a bit worn or played with, band missing (if it was left on, but that could be replaced)
and the primer. So are there any experts out there on U.S.WW1 period cutaways
or another example.
Factory made or Depot made to spec? Corroded inside of case and primer ?
Fired case not cleaned or traces of dummy filler ? I can't imagine using a
dirty uncleaned case wether home made or real ? But what ever the outcome
at $40 including postage I'm okay. The fuze is the scarcer Cartwright MKll.
