Could this be Canadian made ? Not the fuze of course.
The only marks are on the base.
We had this gun in service into the late 1930s as it was
still listed for shooting/gunnery competitions that late.

Hi Gordon,

The "D/|\C" mark shows it was made by Dominion Arsenal, Canada (probably the one in Quebec). DC was also the mark of Dominion Cartridge Co., but they would have been much later than this shell. Is there any date on it?

Regards,
Roger.

No it is undated - the fuze is 1908 so it was fired anytime after that. The drawing is from the 1905 RHA 12pr 6CWT manual. I think 1905 would have been at the end of the guns life in the UK as the 13pr was coming in and the MKVll was the last mark? It is possible that few were made in the UK and maybe those ended up over here and we made them as the requirements would have been low and no longer made in the UK ~ but I'm guessing. I haven't seen enough of these over here to know if this mark is the majority or imported R^L projectiles were at least until they ran out. What types turn up over there ?

Upon inspection there is a date with an inspectors mark the letter M , so we
were making these here by 1908 at any rate and still using old British stock
at the same time. The difference between this MKVll and the earlier is the driving band design.
