I like the "used"look of this model, the dried mud in the track cleats and up the front and rear plates, what do you use for the dried mud(unless it s a trade secret),sand would have much too coarse grain to look realistic, very clever whatever you used,it looks "right",
Regards,
Don,

No secret Don, for the dried mud just a mixture of various colour fine pigments.

Another masterpiece. How much time does it take to make a model of this quality?
Regards, DJH

Thanks DJ, as for time each model is different, some model kits have 200, 300 parts other more detailed kits have well over 1,000 parts so a fair few hours just to build. Each piece needs to be taken off the sprue, trimmed and glued into place. The painting and weathering takes much longer.

This particular kit didn't have all that many parts so not much building time but a lot of hours on the weathering, I don't know exactly the time spent on it. Maybe around 10 - 15 hours at least from start to finish at a guess.

Due to drying times of primer, paint, varnish etc using acrylic and enamel products obviously it can't all be done in one go, I usually do a couple of hours or so a day.

Another masterpiece. How much time does it take to make a model of this quality?

Stunning build Darren of an awesome British armoured fighting vehicle.
I completely concur with everyone else, your models are the perfect balance of realism, without going crazy on weathering, without the de rigeure replacement off-colour barrel and without showing it in pristine condition.. The few models I made didn't come close to this.
Thank you for showing...keep going
