If you look on Youtube you can see a surprising number of artillery rounds with used driving bands laying around
 
A question for those with EOD backgrounds:

Once the main chain of explosions has finished, how would you even begin to deal with what was left?

Would it be a case of simply fencing off the entire area as a permanent no-go zone?
 
Does anyone have any updates on this?

What was the eventual outcome? Did they simply have to evacuate the area until most of the ordnance had exploded?
