A Couple New Additions - Finally!

Hi Guys, it's been a while since my last post as I haven't really picked up nothing that would interest the Forum until now. I picked up these two pistols and need some help with identifying them. All my books are in storage so I haven't been able to research them. I believe the No. 29 is British, its dated 12-38 which is quite early. The maker is S.M.P.

The other pistol is American but I have no idea of the make or pattern. It appears to be made in 1943. I'm hoping the more advanced collectors can shed some light in these new additions.

Cheers,

Greg

Hello,

As you already know first it's a pistol No29 but I'm confused with the cap, looks like a cover of No34 (with 4 holes).
Second looks like Pistol No45 (UK) or No52 (US).

Regards

The early No 29 had no holes in the cap (resembling more the No 33). They were later converted to the No 34 Pistol standard by the fitting of a safety cap with holes and included a stronger safety cap spring.
This appears to be one of the later No 29 > No 34 conversions as the "29" has been "striked" out. (and there's a stamped "34" after that?)
Cheers

The second is according to the stamps and the five arming vanes of the vane cap a N° 45 Mark I from 10/43.
