But at least non lamps !

The 1915 HE came in the case shown, it had with it the No80 fuze shown on the 1916 Shrapnel. The Shrapnel
came with the 1906 VSM fired No 80 fuze. As HE made in Canada were shipped out unloaded to the UK for filling
I removed the incorrect fuze and put in a plug. I put the fuze on the Shrapnel instead. Fuzes weren't made in Canada
until 1916. The shrapnel which has it's full inert contents had been dropped straight down in it's case and had driven
itself inside the case and folding over like a press areas of the rim of the case, plus expanding the case down about an inch.
I made an inertia puller and out popped the projectile. The case was ruined, however the primer which is dated
1915 will be placed into the HE case. The shrapnel has original paint which is not often seen.
The HE had a film of rust which I have mostly removed, but I didn't want to clean it to bright metal.
What did they cost - the HE $150, the shrapnel $90 (Cdn$) it breaks even pretty well even with the loss of
one case. The spare 1906 fuze would pay off well if I ever found, if such exists an unfired MK1 18pr.

Here they are very common, ( I mean to the point of it's almost impossible not to find some in the course of a year, not to mention lamps of same.) I don't quite know why. In fact a fired 18pr shrapnel is seldom encountered. The real difference is original paint or cleaned off etc. By far the most have no original finish. Though in contrast to the numbers made it is nothing. The shipping totals would indicate no fuzes were made until 1918, but I think that is a total from 1916 on. I include the detail pages for this matter.

Hello.
Nothing to add about the projectile, I take no interest about them. On the other hand, about your case, the manufacturer CC&F is not common at all. I see it very rarely.
Regards,
Dandebur.
