Hi guys,
Does anyone here have any information about Great war French 95mm HE rounds.
Technical, specs, images, etc.
The shell I have seen in particular has quite a thick driving band with 2 grooves, one thin, one thick with a bevel at the leading edge.
Band looks to be about 40-45mm wide, and about 20mm from base of shell. Sorry I can't be more accurate, but guessing these from pictures I've seen.
Only info I have found is on Lahitolle system, late 1800's.
One for the ordinance chaps; Are these 95mm rounds a common sight on former great war battlefields?
Thanks in advance,
D
