These are picked up occasionally whilst walking the dog on the local military ranges;
They have the appearance of a cut-off 5.56 case but are 10 thou larger in diameter than SAAMI specs, .500" long, no headstamp, three stab crimps to retain the primer, purple primer annulus, Berdan copper primer with a very small indent from a firing pin, I assume it to be from an igniter of some sort, any ideas? EDIT; .300" long, not .500"
