Anyone recognize this fuze?

Wiltshire lad

I recently found this shell, which I reported and has been dealt with. I thought that it had been fired with a transit plug as the fuze was not like anything I had seen before but it was attached to the shell so I did not clean it up to get a better look.
I have since discovered a relic fuze of the same type, no visible markings, of steel construction, I believe it was fitted to a 105mm shell of ww2 maybe American? possibly HE.

Anyone recognise it? I don't think it was a very reliable fuze as I have since noticed another two shells, which again have been reported and detonated.

Thanks in advance, as I'm sure one of you will know!

Colin

It's an American shell and fuze. It is the standard U.S. PD/SQ fuze and is missing it's windscreen. There are similar photos here on BOCN.

The M51 series is an example.
