Musee des Blindes, Saumur, France. Revisited 2017

AE501

HONOURED MEMBER RIP
I first went to the Saumur tank museum two years ago and posted vast numbers of tanks on this site.
I have just been again and there are improvements. Many of the tanks no longer have large windows behind them making photography difficult and they seem to be better spaced in many instances.
The more modern tanks have their anti tank ammunition displayed with them (see Part 2).
I have given more attention to some tanks than before.
I am getting battle fatigue, more tomorrow.

Musee des Blindes 2017 - Part 2

SAA men may like 12.7mm and 30mm x 150 case making from brass lump to finish.
More ammunition here.
I have got them in reverse somehow but never mind.

Am I right that "Musee des blindes" translates as " museum of protected windows"? Anyone who speaks French?

There is an accent over the 'e' and it means armour. I am not good at superscript. From schoolboy French, 'fenetre' is window and i think there was a circumflex accent over the second 'e'.

Musée des blindés (="armored vehicules museum")

I noticed a mistake on the information board of missile ANTAC.
It's not ANTAC but ENTAC (for ENgin Téléguidé Anti Char).

One of the best places on this planet..

I went to Saumur earlier this year

I can't remember, what Museum this French Tank was in though :bawling: (Second Picture).

I do believe it's a Replica Renault..

You are quite right MINENAZ16 because you can actually read ENTAC on one of the missiles, especially if you enlarge it.
I forgot to say that I went two days before Bastille Day, so some of the exhibits were not there. St. Chamond for one.
