Canadian 2" HE bomb

Infanteer

Well-Known Member
Picked this up recently as they are very uncommon here in Canada, especially with a fuze. Interestingly, the lacquer is much lighter in color than what I am used to seeing so I'm wondering if it's not original. Sadly, this was made into a lamp so there is a hole in the safety cap. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to improve it for display? I suspect that I might have to seek out a replacement cap but considering how difficult it is to find No 151 fuzes around here I'm still happy to have it.

I don't think its the original Lacquer, the tail fins were never lacqued. Very nice minty round though. I usually find blown Canadian tails and fuzes here in the UK.

Fuze and tail manufactured by "P.C." - Pressure Castings, Toronto.

Good point about the lacquer on the tail fins. This only occurred to me after I posted and was looking at my other bombs. Of course this also explains why the color of the lacquer is lighter than usual.

Funny enough we find them here in the UK buried for 70 years as if they were screw off from the bomb yesterday. Plenty around.

Hi Steve need to clear your message box as i have had some luck with some caps. They are not dug ups just need a clean some slight remains of cap tape.
