Swiss 20mm cannon round?

Hi,

Another cannon round question!

I've checked Tony Williams' Guide to collecting 20mm ammunition, but this drill round doesn't seem to fit any of the examples shown.

The case is approx. 113mm long. Overall length is approx.183mm.

The projectile is engraved: "595-8030 MANIP"

The case is engraved: "M+FA 1979 ECCC"

The last 2 photos show this round next to a Drill 20x110 Hispano round. It's not perfectly clear from the photos, but the M+FA case is definitely longer.

Thanks for any help with identification.

Cheers,

Gary

As its not actually a 'case', might it appear the case part is longer as it includes the representation of the driving band as well?.
Some drill rounds are very detailed and others seem to just have the basic dimensions.
Also appears to be a presentation item, with the 1979 ECCC,possibly a cartridge collecting meeting commemorative item?.

Kahul 1 is correct re about the neck representing the drive band as can be seen with one of these drill rounds against other Swiss Hispano loads.
The lower shoulder on purpose made Hispano drill rounds is not unusual as can be seen with this English Mk3 Drill/inspectors round against other English Hispano loads, I should think it is because there is no need to chamber a drill round fully against the 'shoulder' profile in the gun chamber.
